Interfaith Meet to Promote World Peace

On 24th July 2025, the campus of Holy Mary High School echoed with the spirit of universality of human race to promote World Peace as the institution hosted its first ever Interfaith Meet.

“Be still and know that I am God.” As the psalmist spoke in the stillness of silent prayer, our Headmistress Sr. Meena heard the voice of God and felt his peaceful presence. Led by the Holy Spirit a spark of divine light ignited for the cry of peace, which led to organize an Interfaith Meet to promote world peace, aiming at promoting dialogue, tolerance and mutual respect among diverse religious communities.

The program began with the lighting of the lamp to dispel the darkness of hatred, power, greed etc. and a soulful prayer dance invoking God’s blessing. A warm welcome address was delivered, followed by introducing the inspirational speakers from various faith.Mr. Raghunath Leela Das, Mr. Fayaz Farooq and Rev. Fr. Packiya Raj from Hindu, Islam and Christian faiths respectively.

Focus was on sarvejana sukinobavanthu, universal brotherhood, love of God and love of neighbour, compassionate love, unity with integrity echoed through every heart.

Lifting up the banner of peace, students sang beautiful hymns. The highlight of the event was the release of white pigeon symbolizing universal peace spread across the world.

Students lifted light of peace promising to be channels of peace in a world torn apart in war and violence.

JUNE 30

Vana Mahotsavam

“Heal the earth, heal our minds, heal our souls.”

Vana Mahotsava, a beautiful celebration of God’s creation and human intervention with nature.

On the 30th of June 2025, the garden of Holy Mary High School accelerated life, pledging on conservation of nature. Plant life, plant hope was the main objective of the celebration.

The day commenced invoking God’s blessings, prayers, and prayer song, setting a reverent tone for the celebration.

The students of the middle school highlighted that a tree is a wonderful symbol for the environment through a skit.

Investiture ceremony for National Green Corps leaders was held where young individuals have shown immense commitment to be responsible leaders to preserve nature for a bright future.

The students of high school presented a captivating dance, inspiring “He who plants a tree, plants a hope.”

The students enlightened about the importance of the day through an effective conversation to raise awareness of trees, prevent global warming, reduce pollution, and save the environment.

The programme culminated with planting saplings around the school premises by the Management Staff, students, and contingent staff. It was a blissful day.

JUNE 10

Core Listening Skills

The new academic year began with hope and harmony to harness lives, to transcend God’s blessings, and to transform lives.

On the 10th of June, a training on core listening skills for teachers was organised by the Management.

A five-member panel committee headed by the Superior Provincial Sr. Alphonsa Vattoly, Rev. Sr. Carmely Thaniath, Rev. Sr. Anna Mary Thumma, Rev. Sr. Ancilla Rodriques, and Sr. Amala Mary presided over the sessions.

Sr. Alphonsa Vattoly stressed the need of the hour that a heart of listening and speaking is the cornerstone for a good conversation. Deep listening can make life worth living. Quality conversation brings awareness of one’s longing desires, creates inner silence, and freedom. Sister expressed that a good listener welcomes the speaker’s words as an expression of God’s voice.

Practical application of learning experiences opens doorways to growth and development.

Sr. Alphonsa engaged the teachers through interactive sessions led by the panel members. Discussions on a few questions by all the members of the group to achieve the mission of the core listening skills were conducted.

The sessions were informative, effective, and implementative for the Teaching Learning Process.

11th Telangana Formation Day Celebration

The 11th Telangana Formation Day was celebrated with grandeur, recalling the commitment and sacrifices of people from various walks of life.

Our School Correspondent Sr. Amala Mary invoked God’s wisdom and guidance through a prayer.

Our Chief Guest Mrs. Asha unfurled the National Flag.

SPL Miss. Havisha highlighted the events, struggles, and development of the State since its inception.

As part of the programme, the NCC Cadets planted saplings around the school premises.

The programme ended with the Telangana State song by the staff.
